For Dog Parents - Rehab your fearful or feral dog the Nose-Centric Way
Specifically designed for people who live with fearful and feral dogs and are seeking help, this workshop is a two-day immersive experience.
We will explore how fearful and feral dogs perceive the world, and how dogs establish trust with their human counterparts. Then, we will focus on how using Nose-Centric techniques will help build trust and confidence with your dog, focusing on optimizing and encouraging the dog’s natural behaviors.
This workshop includes your dog in the learning process so can receive practical and real-time guidance.
Led by Julie Hart, an experienced fearful and feral dog rehabilitator, this workshop blends classroom instruction, live demonstrations, and hands-on practice.
Key focus areas include:
Building trust with fearful and feral dogs
Reading and responding to canine and human body language
Effective leash handling with high-stress dogs
Creating predictability and emotional safety for the dog
Facilitating confident, brave behavior fast instead of enabling fear
Understanding how human mindset, energy, and expectations affect outcomes
How to apply Nose- Centric techniques
Participants will learn how to connect with dogs on a deeper level by becoming what dogs need to feel safe, not by “fixing” behavior. A powerful side effect of this work is increased self-awareness—learning to manage your own emotions, presence, and reactions in challenging situations.
